Radio Picture of Cygnus A observed for the First Time in Hong Kong Sky

In the figure, we captured the radio signal from Cygnus A at Stanley Ho Astronomical Observatory of Hong Kong on 29th December, 2020. This was the historical signal that we detect in the sky of Hong Kong. The false colour image, showing a radio map with different signal intensities in arbitrary units, is a convincing record which is repeatable. The integration time of each pixel of the Cygnus A image was 2 second. The distance between Cygnus A and our earth is around 600 million light years. It was very exciting to record this in our local sky. Hope that we can continue to detect more radio sources in Hong Kong.
